The New Zealand Art Show was established in 2004 by the New Zealand Affordable Art Trust. The show was named the New Zealand Affordable Art Show for the first 6 years and in 2010 has been renamed The New Zealand Art Show.
The aim of the New Zealand Affordable Art Trust is to assist and promote new and emerging New Zealand artists. For this reason registration fees and commission are kept to a minimum, with the majority of sale revenue being returned to artists.
The vision of the Trust is to:
The selection team is an integral part of the New Zealand Art Show. Each year hundreds of artists register for the event. The selection team's task is to go through all registrations and evaluate the pieces to ensure that there is a great mix of styles, work and prices and that the quality of the show continues to exceed that of the previous year.
We are fortunate to have a team with such passion and knowledge.
