The NZ Art Show aims to support artists in all stages of their careers and 3 different categories have been identified to achieve this – Below is to give you information about each category. If you are invited to particiapte, more information will be given to you.

Visitors to the NZ Art Show enjoy meeting the creators. The NZ Art Show aims to support artists who are present at the event, creating new work specifically for the show, and who recognize the value of being there to connect with fellow artists and potential collectors.

  • You are a full-time artist or pursuing a full-time career in art.
  • The NZ Art Show is a significant annual exhibition that you focus on each year.
  • You have the time and capacity to create a substantial body of cohesive work for the show.
  • You recognize the value of being present at the show and engaging directly with potential collectors.
  • You value meeting and connecting with other artists.
  • This might be your first major show, or you may be a seasoned art show exhibitor.
  • You are building an excellent sales history.
  • You have participated in numerous exhibitions and solo shows.
  • You are motivated to challenge yourself and step out of the studio to engage with people.
  • 1 Panel = 2.3m (h) x 1.2m (w)
  • Exhibition fees apply and vary depending on the number of panels (3,4 or 5)
  • Commission: 25%
  • Art Sale Price Limit: There is no ceiling price, however artists are encouraged to consider the average sale price of artwork at the NZ Art Show to be $1,250.
  • Recommendations: Variety of sizes and prices
  • Suggested Number of Artworks: The average number of artworks artists sell in this category is 17 (a storage area is provided to you)

The NZ Art Show aims to support new and emerging artists and serve as a launch pad for their careers. A special category has been created to make it easier for emerging artists to participate in the show without needing to be present.

  • This may be your first exhibition.
  • You are seeking to establish yourself.
  • You are aspiring to pursue a career in art.
  • You are actively developing and refining your style, technique, and artistic voice.
  • You are seeking to gain exposure and build a portfolio.
  • You might be a recent graduate.
  • You have a limited exhibition history.
  • You probably have not yet achieved significant recognition or sales history.
  • You can arrange the delivery of your work to the event and collection of unsold works.
  • 1 Panel: 2.3m (h) x 1.2m (w)
  • Admin Fee: $50
  • Commission: 30%
  • Art Sale Price Limit: $1,000
  • Artwork Size: 80cm x 80cm or smaller
  • Recommendations: Variety of sizes and prices
  • Suggested Number of Artworks: Between 6 to 10 (we will work with selected artists)
  • Note: Limited number of spots available

The NZ Art Show aims to support experienced and established artists by providing a category that accommodates their busy schedules, enabling them to participate and showcase their work at the event without needing to be present.

  • You are likely to be a part-time artist or a full-time artist with a busy schedule.
  • You do not have time to create a large body of work.
  • You have been involved in many exhibitions and solo shows.
  • You have an established sales history
  • You are experienced and have been creating for several years.
  • This might be a stepping stone for you creating a body of work for the NZ Art Show in the future.
  • You might want to dip your toes in the water and see how your work is received.
  • You probably have not yet achieved significant recognition or sales history.
  • You value the exposure the NZ Art Show can provide for you.
  • You might feel overwhelmed with crowds.
  • You can arrange the delivery of your work to the event and collection of unsold works
