I live in New Plymouth where I work from my home studio. Often using a variety of media such as printmaking, painting, drawing and sculpture I choose the one most suitable to the project at hand.
My education in the arts has been lifelong, starting with art and art history at school and recently completing a MFA during which I received a scholarship from Puke Ariki Museum in Taranaki. I spent many years solo travelling then settled in Ireland for twenty years before returning to New Zealand with my Irish born children and husband eight years ago. During those years in Cork, Ireland I became a member of a professional printmaking studio and focused on the craft of etching.
It is a medium that suits my love of drawing and interest in story, myth and history and this, combined with my experiences of people and places, informs my imagery. Much of my work is based around human relationships, the everyday, the domestic and the fantastical that is contained within those ordinary moments.
