I am a painter, most often in watercolours, but also in acrylics. I love the outdoors...and it follows most of my works are topographical landscapes/seascapes.
I paint large because our panoramas in NZ are breathtakingly broad. I feel to paint our environments small is to do them an injustice.
The NZ light is bright and clear, unlike the filtered light in Europe where watercolours tend to be in softened hues and contrasts.
All my works are on 100% rag acid-free paper, using the highest lightfast-rated artist quality paints.
My professional background is in secondary teaching and graphic design...but I have been painting earnestly for the last 6 years.
My supply of painting materials has been interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, which is why most of my works shown are older, previously sold works.
Once I am able to source materials again, I will replenish the stock of works for sale here. Please bear with me.
And please contact me if you are interested in a commissioned work or hosting a future painting workshop.
Thank-you for your interest and keep yourself well during this time.
