-I love the challenges and versatility of print making. The results created are often different from what I expect; they take on their own form. I use many different print techniques but for this group of prints I have chosen to explore the ways I could use mono type printing. With this technique every single print is unique and unrepeatable.
Through this work I am exploring the colour and form of the landscape around the Wairarapa and the Wellington coast the places that I live. The rugged Wairarapa bush, the lakes and the coast line are inspiration for me to construct works concentrating on colour, contrast and mood rather than direct reproduction. I construct a print in stages using a range of forms, opacity, and transparency and then use many layers of inks to get the images I like.
