This month we profile three online gallery artists. Lara Gilks, Tetyana Khytko and Susan Skelton.
Lara is an art photographer based in Wellington, New Zealand. Through her work, she seeks to create tension and an opportunity for the viewer to reconcile elements that don’t naturally fit together.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Tetyana studied painting at the Kiev Art School. In 1987 she graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Arts with a degree in architecture, worked as an architect for while. She later changed her career to graphic design and immigrated to New Zealand in 2000.
Wellington artist Susan Skelton started painting in 2006.Her approach to art making is where colour and texture play a key element in the energy expressed in the works. Her practice explores the boundaries and tolerance of paint, resulting in explosions of colour and shape onto paper or canvas.
