Thank you: Luna Estate Wines

Luna Estate wines

At the 2018 NZ Art Show gala, 1300 guests had the pleasure of supping on delicious wine from the cellars of our exclusive wine partner, premier Wairarapa winery, Luna Estate.

The team at Luna Estate is great to work with and their wonderful wine selection helped make the gala evening the special event it was.

Luna Estate comprises both Blue Rock vineyard, which is home to the winery, and Eclipse vineyard, which houses the cellar door and kitchen operations and is the public face of their operations.

To find out more about Luna Estate wines, we spoke to their Sales and Marketing Manager Rick Lindsay.

Why did you choose to work with the NZ Art Show?

We’re impressed by how the event bridges emerging talent with the NZ public overall, not just art collectors. For us, this is the perfect opportunity to support an iconic annual event. Also, we see parallels between wine and art: both excite and stimulate the senses and they both offer so much enjoyment to a wide and diverse range of people and culture.
We are avid supporters of NZ art: a stunning Jane Blackmore painting graces our Rosé label.

Tell us about your wines

Whilst we produce a range of wines, we specialise in Pinot Noir.
Martinborough is perfect for growing pinot noir grapes: it is relatively dry and has complex soils and a wind pattern that moderates crop levels during flowering in Spring. We also produce delicious Chardonnay, Syrah, Rosé made from Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris and small amounts of Sauvignon Blanc.

Why should people choose Luna Estate wine?

These are elegant and complex wines from an amazing site.

For the uninitiated, we highly recommend that you start with our Estate Pinot Noir for a taste of magic: it’s excellent value for money.

What else does Luna Estate offer?

At our Eclipse vineyard, you can find our cellar door and kitchen. Open seven days a week, there’s a wide selection on the Asian-inspired menu. Attentive and knowledgeable staff, plus delicious wine, add to a memorable experience.

At our Blue Rock premises, we offer two generous accommodation options and a venue facility set in beautiful and tranquil surroundings: perfect for weddings, corporate events and any occasion requiring a setting with X factor.
