Carla Russell, the executive director of Wellington’s annual NZ Art Show, compares the seven days around the King’s Birthday Weekend event to a marathon that they spend all year training for.
The three-day event plus opening Gala evening on May 29, runs from May 30 to June 1 at TSB Arena and Shed 6, and has been held at the same time for the past 22 years.
Russell says it is set to be the biggest yet this year in terms of footprint and number of artists, with 250 artists and 4000 works.
